The birds are at the feeder, and snow is coming! I will make sure that all winter long, the critters that come to feed won't go hungry. I will take as many pictures of them as I can, and share them here with you! Houston, the Eagle has landed! Eagle |

The birds had a good Christmas, the squirrels I haven't seen lately because they can't get to the feeder and the bears are sleeping. All is safe for the birds! |

The birds had a good Christmas, the squirrels I haven't seen lately because they can't get to the feeder and the bears are sleeping. All is safe for the birds! I fed all the birds today, and I will do so again tomorrow after the blizzard stops. We feed the squirrels, the chipmonks, the skunks, the foxes, or anything that is hungry. Even the wild turkeys come in the yard for food. I try to make sure there is a big variety of food, so everyone gets some. The Blue Jays do seem to hog a lot of it though. Eagle |

The wild birds are being fed here as well. This weather is very hard for them It just makes you feel good to provide food for the cold, hungry critters. They pay for the food just by showing up! That is where my web cam comes in. Winter is hard. Here there can be snow between October, and April. That varies from year to year, but you can still expect it. As long as the critters, and the neighbors chickens who visit on occaision, are fed, then I'm happy. Eagle |

I have some fox videos. Tomorrow I will post them on You Tube, and provide a link. I just need to take care of my snake cages first. This is the first winter the web cam has been there. I am looking forward to having video of the animals as they come to feed. Eagle |

Grr. I am a bit miffed at my neighbor. I got home from a lovely lunch, to see an animal trap in front of my neighbors door.(duplex, complex of duplexes). Inside, was a grey squirrel. I was staring at it, trying to figure out why someone would trap a squirrel. And also wondering if it was related to a couple of cat disappearances around here recently. He finally came out (from another neighbors) saying he had trapped it. and was going to relocate it(this area used to be orchards, many black walnut trees in the area still make fine homes for them) His reason: He was tired of them "digging up his lawn". I know I have gophers. And therefore he has gophers. And he is trapping squirrels for it??? I repeat.. Grrr. I love the little things scurrying through trees.. scolding, jumping around.. I understand if they get into homes they can be problems, but because of a lawn?!?!? GRRR!!! Janice |

Grr. I am a bit miffed at my neighbor. I think he needs to have the difference between squirrels and gophers explained to him. If he won't listen to you, he might listen to the state university extension service (if you are living in the US). BOINC WIKI |

um.. I doubt anyone could explain anything to this guy. I was not going to try. Let me just say I would not be surprised if the squirrel was really destined for his frying pan. Janice |

Could you not report him to your equivalent of the RSPCA? Good question (aspca/humane society/animal control.. all possible people I could run it by). I am not sure what he is doing is illegal. But GRRR!!! Janice |
