Here's some rather interesting observations and the beginnings of an interesting theory:

Cosmos may show echoes of events before Big Bang

Renowned cosmologist Roger Penrose said that analysis of this cosmic microwave background showed echoes of previous Big Bang-like events.

The events appear as "rings" around galaxy clusters in which the variation in the background is unusually low. ...

The idea hasn't gone through peer review yet, but it does look rather interesting.

... Or could another explanation be that we're seeing gravitational (wave?) artefacts?... Even electromagnetic interferometry effects due to gravitational waves or gravitational lensing?

I suspect that other reasons will be found for the Microwave observations but, if this proves to accurate, cosmology is going to undergo a fairly massive overhaul in the coming years. :)
Pure mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas.

I think its rubbish. The more we learn about science and astronomy, the more rubbish theories people invent to explain the bits we still don't understand.

Rubbish? If I remember my history lessons correctly, they thought Neuton and Copernicus were rubbish as well. Thing is, scientists HAVE to try to come up with new ideas, and jsut maybe a new theory might prove to be right.

Dont prejudge. Read about it, research it, learn all you can, and then decide.
