I have 4 Tasks, two on each box, and all are -2s.

Feels good to be back crunching, and glad to help with the clean-up.

SETI@home	04/11/2010 19:34:29	Project requested delay of 303 seconds

That used to be 11 seconds: I'll accept the blame.

Or, if you can establish a causal effect with the low rate of failed connections, the credit ;-) Cheques, bunches of flowers, chocolate, to the usual address, please.
I think I recall you to have a UK address. Were it in the US, I'd gladly send a box of Ethyl M chocolates, though I must disavow the ability to establish a causal effect. Something for sure is different, and way better I think. At the very least, your suggestion, your credibility which made them more likely to act one it, and their action have made this one change, which I'll wager is at least part of why things are better.

CUDA work! About a day's worth of -2s, -3s, and -4s. Nice. I think I even saw a geezer -5 coming in with a walker.

Gotta get these old folks outta here before the pretty new servers arrive.

How many WUs does a Nvidia 250 on an 8400 knock off in an hour?

I'm getting about 6 done on a Nvidis 450, albeit a bit over clocked from the reference board, on an E6600.

I got a bunch of -2's, and a -4. 17 WU's total. Not too shabby.

By the end of the day (now) I'm up to about 79 WU's per machine. Should keep me going for a little bit.

Given your 2 RAC's, should keep you going for about a day ;-)

And that's the goal, run down all the queues and swab the decks. I sort of wished they had set the deadlines to everything outbound to maybe 3 days max instead of the typical ~6 weeks.

I don't mind folks having a 40 day queue in general, but this month the admins are calmly trying to clean the slate for a larger cause.. and gloming onto a warchest of WU's flies counter to that.

Got some overnight. Mostly -2s and -3s. Will be back to Docking once this run is depleted.

I get 2 SETI and 1 SETI Beta WUs. I have the thing set to 0.1 day cache but with debt BOINC thought I needed this much and now for the last 12h has refused to run them. One other project went high priority instead and it went out and downloaded a bunch of short deadline (3 Day) PrimeGrid instead and has been doing those instead. I some times don't understand BOINC work fetch and run logic. I am going to adjust the work ratios to see If I can force the SETI WUs. I know I can't force the Lattice WU since it Is over the deadline ( they miscalculated the last batch and around 1/2 have been going over deadline).

Grabbed 16 APs in one request, and that's all I got. That's enough work for about four days.

MY GTS 250 on my i7 does 1 every half hour.

Yes, UK it is - Yorkshire, as occasionally mentioned on these boards. Ethyl M is a new brand on me, though Google found me Ethel M in Nevada - doesn't look like they have a UK franchise, and it's so long since I last visited the States (almost 40 years) that I wouldn't have remembered, even if I'd come across them then - and I only got as far as Denver, not over the continental divide to Nevada.

If I ever fulfill the fantasy of inviting myself to visit SETI and the SSL, I'll ask around and see if anyone can recommend a stockist.

Spooky stuff!!!

I did a detach/attach to clear ghosts before the downloads were re-enabled yesterday, so I assume that worked (difficult to tell since we have no visibility of the task listings for our clients ATM). I had almost run out of tasks to process in the queue clearing that's currently going on - and bam, 20 lost tasks got re-sent!

So, for those that have run out of work, its probably worth leaving your client connected and asking for work, just in case you have created some new ghosts.......

Do you have overclock or undervolt on your i7? I'd not be surprised if the limit line differs between an Einstein ap and a SETI ap.

Greetings archae86,

Sorry for the late reply, I've been trying to figure out were the gremlins are at in my i7. Really, really strange behavior. It even re-booted on it's own this morning. It's been running for almost 4 full hours now without any noticeable bad behavior. Got my fingers crossed... ;)

No, my i7 is not over / under clocked nor over / under volt. I run stock from the box.

I have been having one suspicion that keeps nagging at me and that is my video card. Ever since I built this thing I have seen some strange behavior with the mouse cursor. Sometimes, when on a website, I'll move the mouse to scroll and suddenly I'll be back one or 2 pages. Hasn't happened, yet, while posting on a forum. I do think about it when I am posting though. The cursor will also jump from one spot, clean across the screen, to another, at lightning speed. It also "auto" scrolls on me sometimes. Really weird behavior.

Of course, then again, the problems could simply be WinXP Pro. I have seen strange things like this on other PCs too, that I have built, just not as drastic.

Anyway, as I said, this thing is running stock from the box. My specs are in my profile if you want to take a peek. :)

Keep on BOINCing...! :)

Indeed, not sure if it's helping or hurting but I've got a 50/50 setup with Einstein so it may go a bit longer than a day. ;)

I have mine set to a 10 day cache I think. Whatever the max is they let you set without file modifications. It normally keeps me going through the 3-4 day outages and allows me to have a few left by the time the download server comes back online.

I don't mind people keeping a large cache, but I do wish they would make the older software revisions update. At least keep within the last two cycles. So cleaning the deck it is, I'm excited to see how the new servers handle the load, I can see some champs on the horizon, least I hope!

Right over in San Francisco, Ghiradelli chocolates. A short stroll to Fisherman's Grotto(Pier 45) gets you a still warm loaf of San Francisco Sour Dough, and some amazing Clam Chowder.

What a lovely thought to wake up to on a chilly (though it has to be said, bright and sunny) autumn morning. I'll start packing.... ;-)

Or, now we've (almost) got the servers sorted out, maybe we should revive the idea of the road trip and the work gang - go over and show the staff what the volunteers can really do. Anyone else up for it? Meet at Ghiradelli's, go lay some fibre, Clam Chowder to finish off - that sort of thing?
