	Have to leave SETI - can no longer afford the wear and tear on my computer - cannot afford to replace it - and need to save all I can on my electric bill. But above and beyond that, I seriously wonder whether SETI is just another red herring. Keep us busy on one track when another track is the way to go. Either way, it just does not matter. Can't afford either one. Have a good time tearing this one apart, people, if you feel like it. Argue away. Or ignore it entirely. It really does not matter to me. But I must say that the often virulent responses to one another's postings is another thing that seriously disappointed me about the SETI site. I, perhaps foolishly, expectedly intelligent discourse and courteous discussion of differences from people who believed this was a cause worth sacrificing time and money for. All of you, have a good life. ____________ To the victor goes not only the spoils of war but, more importantly, the bias of history.

	You know, I personally do not find any compelling reason to find ET other than, It is a fascinating challenge. While in a thousand or so years it could be important, Today we need to make the best use of our lives here. But the search continues, and I am happy to help with it where I can. 	Seti always knew that they would lose some people while the new servers are getting delivered and installed. In my view that was a price worth paying to put the project back upon an even keel. The reality is that when the new kit is up and running they are likely to get the dissenters back, and probably many more new people as well. What is the old phrase? "You need to take one step back, to take two steps forward" My advice? 	I may be just one amongst those who aren't leaving, regardless. Yeah, it's frustrating when you have no WU's running and you go to "update" and the server tells you that there isn't any work available (for several days in a row), but I finally got some for my laptop to work on (they're downloading as I write this). Now to try the same on the iMac. ____________
