	BUT it's ALWAYS down?... Tuesday---Sunday?... Got all my Machines sitting and Waiting for Tasks, and the answer is: Project has NO Tasks.. I Like to Help, and have for YEARS now, But this is crazy.. I Run SETI 100%, and half the time I either have a Machine Hang, or NO server with Tasks? ____________

	Super that we will also be able to return seit beta WU's! I think it will be taking a few weeks to fix the server, and since deliverie of the server from HP will also cost around 2 weeks, i would think that 4 weeks is the bare minimal for what the seti project crew has to do on the DB servers. But i'm not in any way connected to the seti project, it's just my estimation. ____________

Connect to some other project for the time being or turn off your seti machines for the time being. ____________

Its a simple solution to the problem. After all, it is likely to be, quite some time before more WUs are sent out. If you have money to burn or are a share-holder in a Power Generation or Supply company, then, perhaps consider doing work for another project. 	I have an amazing thought. Why not take apart all those computers that have been doing Seti and clean out all the dust bunnies. Then when Seti comes back they will be fresh and ready to go for another 3 months without cleaning. ____________

	Suggested as much myself in an earlier thread, but I don't know if the download servers themselves induce load on the DB server. If they do, then that alone is pause. Would be nice to get them through the pipe though as it'll ease the move when it happens. Definitely leave the splitters off though. 	I understand the need to replace the unreliable servers. Hopefully, that will fix all the recent outages (in the last few months). Thank you for the post. Query: Can you give us a time schedule when the new BOINC server and the new backup server will be online? Several days? :) Weeks? :\| Worse? :( Tnx, Al I have an online date, in the pool, of December 7th. Just in time for the 3 day outage. :)

	My "pool" date is December 6th. December 7th will be the biggest crash in Seti history as 100,000 users all try to download 10 days of work within 2 hours. The 2 replacement machines will get up and leave for the abuse they are taking!!!! (IDK the symbol for sarcasm)
