This isn’t a question, but an answer of sorts. For all those people that are having problems with BOINC working with an authenticating proxy server here is a workaround. Use a program like proxomitron. http://www.proxomitron.info/
The same thing we used to get the legacy client working works with this one.

hi!

i know of this solution, had used it with the old SAH client.
Proxomitron is a very powerful tool.
however, since the http proxy setting _is_ available in BOINC,
i'd like to make use of it.

I have used freeproxy as a solution. Its working on both win XP and win 98.
Boinc has no problems when set to use the proxy server.

Freeproxy from http://www.download.com/3000-2381-10049490.html

People sitting behind a M$-I$A-Proxy with proprietary NTML-Authentication won't get any benefits from traditional proxys like the one mentioned above.
Instead a combined APS/Python-install is necessary, a description can be found here.

Kind regards

Mike
