OK, this is completely weird. Concerned that one PC was running out of work I did an "Update" ... paused for a while, altered the CPU priority to accelerate an existing task then ... A new task appeared from nowhere. When I checked "Properties" it appears that it had been downloaded 8 days ago. (I promise that task was not present in the past 8 days.) Then a second task appeared from nowhere, same reported download date. I have checked the current "Transfers" list and the "Messages" list ... neither shows any evidence of for download of these tasks within the past 5 hours. In the task list, click on show all tasks tab. Maybe that is why you cant see the list. [/quote] Old James |

OOOOOOOOHHHHH! LOADS of tasks. Sorry for the stoopid post. I have no idea how the Task List was set to just "Show (only) active tasks". Suggest restart/reboot should default to "Show all tasks"? Most of my related threads/posts over the past couple of days are hereby defunct! The difference between 0 and 1 is greater than the difference between 1 and 1,000,000 |

OOOOOOOOHHHHH! LOADS of tasks. One of the reasons they implemented that "feature" was because of the manager becoming unresponsive when there was several thousand WU loaded on a CUDA machine. All they saw was "Communicating with the BOINC client" forever. |
