OK, this is completely weird.

Concerned that one PC was running out of work I did an "Update" ... paused for a while, altered the CPU priority to accelerate an existing task then ...

A new task appeared from nowhere.
When I checked "Properties" it appears that it had been downloaded 8 days ago. (I promise that task was not present in the past 8 days.)

Then a second task appeared from nowhere, same reported download date.

I have checked the current "Transfers" list and the "Messages" list ... neither shows any evidence of for download of these tasks within the past 5 hours.

What the **** [my asterisks]

In the task list, click on show all tasks tab. Maybe that is why you cant see the list.

OOOOOOOOHHHHH! LOADS of tasks.
Sorry for the stoopid post. I have no idea how the Task List was set to just "Show (only) active tasks".
Suggest restart/reboot should default to "Show all tasks"?
Most of my related threads/posts over the past couple of days are hereby defunct!

One of the reasons they implemented that "feature" was because of the manager becoming unresponsive when there was several thousand WU loaded on a CUDA machine. All they saw was "Communicating with the BOINC client" forever.
