The project isn't giving me any new tasks. Tried repeatedly to get new WUs on 2 PCs. Neither is in panic mode. Neither has "no new tasks" set. Both have 10-day WU cache set, currently containing about 2 days of work. Both are happily crunching the couple of remaining WUs that each has left (I don't do 24/7 so always have something in reserve). Messages ... all the usual stuff. Now and then ..."Internet access OK - project servers may temporarily be down" (no servers were down over the past 4 hours). EH? Most worrying is "Not reporting or requesting tasks". This is despite the WWW server page showing "Results ready to send" declining as they are being sent out/increasing as tasks are created. Is there a favoured participant setting? Yes, Patience is the favored. On Friday after the downtime there are close to 1 million people requesting and sending in tasks. It takes a bit of time to shake out and get tasks in and out for everyone. |

Got 1 new task, OK, very shortly after the original message was posted. (Spooky, eh?) TTFN, Ray PS:- to re-phrase the reply ... it's OK for the project to send out misleading messages. Or did I get that wrong ... The difference between 0 and 1 is greater than the difference between 1 and 1,000,000 |

The project isn't giving me any new tasks. If the host doesn't request tasks the servers certainly won't assign it any. Your second post noting you got 1 task suggests you may not actually have a 10 day cache set. That can happen if you adjust the web preferences for a different venue than the host is using, or if some local preference has been set (in which case all the global web preferences are ignored).
