I can't upload or get new jobs for several days now.

Yes, the server is still down, and I wouldn't expect anything to be up for the next 2 to 3 weeks. See front page news, the technical news forum and for when the forums are down, the technical news pages.

They are always sending out mailers asking for money for this and that.
How about one seeking donations for a newer server, a dedicated one just
for us who went to the trouble of installing the program and letting them
use our computers. It wouldn't be that much either.

I never had an email from Seti asking for money. I did have one at a time asking me to come back. As for donation drives, see this thread for the latest one, where lots of people donated small amounts, but enough so Seti can now buy new servers. (There's also the normal donation thread that's still active).

And if you want to donate, http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_donate.php is the place to do it on. If you want to donate through Pay Pal, that's also possible but with a twist. PM me for details.
