Seeking help to maximize theWU utilisation of an NVIDIA GeForce GT 320M graphics card
Hello, embarrassingly I must admit that I am an 11 year clueless N00B. I just install Seti@home on my computers, and let them run.
A fortnight ago I bought a new laptop, an Acer Gateway NV59C V1.06. My first computer with a GPU that Seti@home can use. I am eager to maximize the Seti@home work this laptop can do.
I run BOINC Manager Version: 6.10.58 wxWidgets version: 2.8.10.
I think I have set the preferences to maximize processor usage with ticks to:
computing allowed while computer is on batteries,
while computer is in use
use GPU while computer is in use.
While process usage is less than 0
For other options I have the following:
Switch between applications every 60.00 minutes
On multiprocessor systems use at most 100% of the processors
Use at most 100% CPU time
Are these the most efficient settings for WU crunching?
When I view tasks I see 5 applications running with one for each of the four threads of the core i5 CPU and the fifth application has the following information in the status column (Running 0.18 CPUs + 1.00 NVIDIA GPUs)
I got the following message:
1/10/2010 6:16:57 PM SETI@home Message from server: NVIDIA GPU: _("Upgrade to the latest driver to use all of this project's GPU applications")
Can someone give me advice or directions on how to do this?
The specifications of my laptop are as follows:
2.40 gigahertz Intel Core i5 M 520
Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) (build 7600)
NVIDIA GeForce GT 320M [Display adapter]
