Hi. I am having some problems managing my two projects. How do I get SETI to be my main project and Rosetta the second. My main problem is that rosseta downloads way to many work units and use to much CPU time. Want SETI to run more often Thanks |

How are both set up for Resource Share? Of course, with Seti being down at this time, Rosetta will be the only project to download work. Essentially, if the resource share between the projects is the same (50-50%), when Seti comes back up BOINC will pay back the amount of CPU time Rosetta has taken up to even them out. |

Yep SETI have no work now. But I have set Resource share to 400 to SETI and 100 to ROSETTA. Also my BOINC Manager is telling me that it's Suspending computation - CPU usage is to high? |

For that is the following setting in your Computing preferences: Suspend work if CPU usage is above --- % 0 means no restriction Enforced by version 6.10.30+ Set it to some higher value or turn it of with a zero setting. Thanks! I was able to do this in the SETI preferences, but I was not able to find this option for ROSETTA? |

It's a global preference valid for all projects that know of it. It's also a pretty new one, so perhaps the server code at Rosetta doesn't incorporate it yet. Gruß, Gundolf |

It makes sense thanks again :D |

Just wondering. Is there any way to set Rosetta only to run when SETI don't have any work? Thay would be sweet! |

Or remotely close to it? :-D |

As soon as Rosetta has updated their erver code, you can set the Rosetta resource share to zero. Then it acts as "backup project" that only gets asked for tasks when all other projects don't have any. Gruß, Gundolf |

But in the meantime setting it to 1 or some other small but non-zero number will have pretty much the same effect. |

That is a client side option, not a server side option. Without up-to-date server code, the zero value isn't accepted in the online preferences. Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. (Kleiner Scherz) SETI@home classic workunits 3,758 SETI@home classic CPU time 66,520 hours |

That is a client side option, not a server side option. I forgot about about that. You can always use BAM to set your resource shares... BOINC WIKI |
