Yes - but it would be nice if the scheduler would be switched on (would be available) also.. ;-) My BOINCs shouldn't UL too much results.. too much/big -> not possible to report.. At least not with my slow DSL light.. AFAIK, Dr. Anderson changed something.. maybe it's possible now - but safety first.. ;-) I don't want to detach/attach again and lose all results/Cr. again - that my BOINCs have again well contact.. |

BTW. From the 'server status page', the scheduler should be available.. But my BOINC get 'not available'. Someone can report? IIRC, they changed some server/service.. maybe they made a mistake and they changed the scheduler URL? |

BTW. From the 'server status page', the scheduler should be available.. I think the sever status page is in error I'm getting the same messages I run my own dns server which I just restarted and still can't connect with the server |

mthinks the status page and possiblly the graphs is/are frozen. I have upload and reported a total of 477 from both of my machines. Someone should check on them. |

BTW. From the 'server status page', the scheduler should be available.. Uploads finished nice and quickly but I can not Report successfully either. 25/09/2010 00:45:20 SETI@home Reporting 778 completed tasks, not requesting new tasks 25/09/2010 00:47:53 Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site 25/09/2010 00:47:53 SETI@home Scheduler request failed: Couldn't connect to server 25/09/2010 00:47:54 Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down. My sched_request_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml file is only 1.6MB and I see plenty of WAN activity for what seems to be about the right amount of time it should take to upload a file of that size given my connection speed. Sadly it looks like the SETI servers are not sending back a sched_reply_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml file so thus reporting fails. 25/09/2010 00:45 0 sched_reply_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml 25/09/2010 00:45 1,680,291 sched_request_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml Hopefully its simply that SETI's servers are just under high load and it will all sort itself out soon. |

This is what I'm getting on both my G4 and my iBook: Fri Sep 24 09:49:59 2010 SETI@home update requested by user Never seen the "redirects limit" error before. Maybe there are DNS problems with the server swaps they did this past week. Edit: Here's the relevant quote from Matt's post in Tech News on 9/23 Well, the thing is, up until this week the scheduler had been running on anakin - one of the last few 32-bit machines in our closet. A new scheduler was built and tested to work on 64-bit systems. Long story short, this week we moved the scheduler onto bane, which was an under-utilized 64-bit machine just handling one half of the workunit downloads. And moved bane's downloads onto anakin. This was done via ip address swapping, so no worries about DNS rollout. We'll try this out either today, or when we open the floodgates tomorrow. Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

It seems that I was mistaken, the uploads were successful but the reporting failed. When I attempted to report again I get: 09/24/2010 13:10:31 SETI@home Sending scheduler request: To report completed tasks. 09/24/2010 13:10:31 SETI@home Reporting 362 completed tasks, requesting new tasks for CPU and GPU 09/24/2010 13:11:19 Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site 09/24/2010 13:11:19 SETI@home Scheduler request failed: Couldn't connect to server 09/24/2010 13:11:20 Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down. |

I hope they could leave a 'well' server lab before they go to the weekend.. ;-) A pity, a few hours - and my GPU machine will idle. :-( |

I can see it clearly. All the crunchers at the task page. And when it says ready to report, 10,000 people hitting the update button at once. [/quote] Old James |

They may just be on hold waiting for the uploads to die off From the Cricket graphs, uploads have dropped off their peak, and Downloads (outbound) traffic is steady at about 13 Mb/s. The Server Status page shows Download Server 1 on Bane (should be Anakin) has been online for a while, but the Download Server 2 on Vader is disabled. If the Server Status page is up-to-date and correct, SOME of us should be able to Report and Download, but that outbound traffic is way below what it should be, even with only one Download server running. Hope they get it straightened out soon. Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

ASUS-DESKTOP The S@H validators on Bruno are Not Running, either. So even if we COULD report, they won't get validated until that gets fixed. Looks like Matt, Jeff, and Eric have their hands full today. I'm going to turn Network Activity off until this evening. Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

Has anyone been able to get a successful scheduler request yet? Until that starts working again, all of these uploaded results are just going to sit there. I'm not worried about getting new work just let, I still have several days worth on a couple machines, I'm just worried that the server swapping during the downtime may have caused a problem with the scheduler. |
