Hi all. Im very new to this and downloaded BOINC about a week or so ago. The default project appears to be one called ABC@home but I am really interested in starting the SETI@home project but cant seem to acquire it. Right now Im only running ABC@home but ideally want SETI@home.

Can anyone explain how to do this? Thanks

I imagine you are still using the simple view so where it says add project click there then check add project. Click next and you will get a dropdown list of all the projects you can join. Scroll down to setiathome and select it. You will get a pop-up asking if you are a new user or returning. click new user. It will then ask you to do a username and password. Use the same ones as you used for ABCathome. It should then download everything you need to start doing SAH.

Be advised we just came off a forced outage because of an air conditioning failure so it might be hard to get work for awhile since everyone is trying to get to the servers at the same time right now.

Forgot to add welcome to BOINC and SETI.

A ha! No, I was on the advanced view where it wasn't readily apparent where to add new projects. Thank you so much for your help. It appears to be going now but Im guessing it might take a while for that screen saver to show up since you are having some difficulties on your end what with the AC associated problems. Its still showing the ABC screen saver (which is dull lol) but I will give it some time. Thank you so much. It now says that SETI@home has been added as a second project so that's better.

I see you got your first task for SETI ready to go. I believe the screen saver shows whatever program is running so it may not show the SETI one until you finish your ABC work unit and start running the seti unit.

Yeah it appears now to be shifting back and forth between the SETI screen saver and the ABC one which is fine. Like it does one for a few minutes and then goes to the other. Thanks again.
