I have a brand new untouched Windows 7 64b computer. I downloaded BOINC 6.10.58 and I get a pop up during the Computing Space requirements phase that says: "Error 1324 the path My Pictures contains and invalid character" I have tried older versions of Boinc and I get the same thing. "My Pictures" is not in my path variable. or any of the system variables. Boinc was never installed on this machine previously. Ideas? |

I have a brand new untouched Windows 7 64b computer. Are you using Start -> Run to execute the installer? If so, are you using the full path copied from some where? Possible explanation: 1) You downloaded the installer to My Pictures. 2) You are using Start -> Run and forgot to enclose the path in quotes (requried because it has a space in the path). Of course, my guess about what is happening could be **completely** wrong as I have very few details to work with. BOINC WIKI |

I left out that it is a network share where "My Pictures" is located as well as all of my documents etc... But I am short on details as the start up script was very short on details. So you are suggesting that I make sure the download is copied to the local drive and activated from there? OK I'll give that I try when I get back to it... |

I left out that it is a network share where "My Pictures" is located as well as all of my documents etc... If the path has spaces in it, you may find that you have to include the entire path in quotes to get it to run. BOINC WIKI |
