James,
You might try the new 0.37 installer. The Lunatics crew have added some improvements that cut way down on those -12 errors.

Are You trying to report WU's to Seti? If so It's not a problem, It's a upload/download outage that starts on Tuesday morning and ends on Friday morning, So that Seti can do important work behind the scenes with the database and not be slowed down by constant uploads and downloads, Plus other work, like on the servers, etc.

You can put a <dont_contact_ref_site>1</dont_contact_ref_site> line in the options section of a cc_config.xml to keep it from trying to load www.google.com each time it has trouble contacting the S@H servers.

Open the BOINC manager in advanced mode, click on Advanced and then Options, then slide the Network Connection Reminder slider all the way to the left.

This will stop those annoying messages.

Cheers.

You might also want to change your Advanced/Preferences/Network Usage settings so that Network Activity is suspended during the outage period.

Yeah, I just suspend network from Tuesday morning through midday Friday. Having an AP-only cache makes it very predictable that I'll have enough work to last. I actually haven't gotten new tasks in almost two weeks. Cache got a little greedy.

Getting it on all my machines as well. At first fails to upload because of space but then succeeds.

It is hard to believe the SETI folks wouldnt have spotted the disks were full (unless nothing could be done about it) - I wonder if it is a deliberate mechanism to control the upload storm by limiting the amount of disk space available? However, I did wonder if the increasing pendings and ghosts were eventually going to cause a problem.

I've found if you hit "Update" to report in your uploaded tasks it helps. Gives the validators something to chew on and clears some space

"Update" may give you an updated total + RAC but it also increases the load on the servers by one more request, so for that reason at this particular time of the week I would not recommend it.
