I had an old account, which I couldn't access for a while. So, I set up a new account with a different e-mail address. Now I've reactivated my old e-mail address but it won't let me change the address to the new address, because I already have an account with the new address. How do I merge the two so I can just use the new address?

long story short... you can't merge accounts. You can use either or both. some people like having a second account. I'd probably want to use my older account as the primary since it's a sense of pride around here for the longevity

You can change the email address of the old account after you've changed the address at the new account to something else (dummy address).
