Even tho the server status page shows that several thousand Astropulse WU's are available, I always get the message "no Astropulse or Astropulse 5 jobs available - sending alternate jobs" or something like that. So ... what does one need to do to get Astropulse WU's???

You have astropulse and AP 5 still checked but they are obsolete. To get astropulse 5.05 you need "If no work available send from other.... or words to that effect. Since there is plenty of MB and CUDA work available it is not easy to get APs.

I do have "If no other work available..." checked and all I get are "enhanced SETI" work units for my GPU. To me, the Astropulse work is more interesting from a scientific standpoint, so maybe I'll suspend SETI work and let my GPU crunch on Einstein@home WUs until (or if?) it becomes possible to actually set a preference for current Astropulse WUs.

Make sure you have 'SETI@home Enhanced' Deselected, as the "If no other work available..." switch won't send you any work if there is work available from a switch that is selected,

The Easiest way of just getting Astropulse_v505 work is going optimised, and only installing the AP_v505 app, like i have on my T8100,
but you need to run a decent size cache to top up AP_V505 work when it's available,

You know NVidia GPUs can't do AP tasks? Looking at your PCs task list, you don't have any CPU work at all, AP or "normal" CPU work, so maybe you have selected to not get CPU work which is = no APs.

You won't get AP work easier when/if they implement the current Astropulse as a choice (I think...).

AP for the GPU?

Unless you have an ATI card and run optimised hybrid, there's no AP for GPU application.

In other words, if you want Astropulse workunits, you will have to enable the CPU and either live with it getting MB as well or switch to optimised and tick only AP and CUDA boxes as Claggy suggested.

Ah, JohnDK beat me to it ;)

Well and I haven't seen any AP tasks, in month's, ehh 1 month ago, from the Server Page it appears there are still AP tasks, just a matter of 'catching' them.

If you only want AP, then you should set to always accept work for other applications. And leave MB, AP, AP V_5, empty.

Most difficult, a.t.m., getting AP tasks, with MB switched on,(especially on ATI
cards?) And running Multiple Projects.

Will send a piture from my 'case-less' rig, absolutely no cooling issues,
maybe the wife, wil have comment ;-). (All temp values are dropped by <55%)
Often wondered how computer cases, haven't really changed, in the last 10 years or more, but the hardware like CPU,(multiple)GPU('s), bigger PSU's, the cases only have room for a lot of Optical and 5 1/4 also 3.5"
HDD's.

But the airflow is terrible, GPU should be in a separate apartment which needs a heavy duty airflow!

You sure that will work? I think he/people would still get MB if there's no AP available...

You can't deselect MB, AP and AP_v5, if you try, they all get selected!,

and getting Astropulse_v505 work for my ATI is no problem, getting it all downloaded is a problem through.

Your results only show

SETI@home Enhanced 6.09 (cuda23)

Do you have

Use CPU
Enforced by version 6.10+ no

as you only seem to be running GPU tasks?

AP are CPU tasks so if CPU is not selected you won't get any.

Other options should be

Run only the selected applications
SETI@home Enhanced: no
Astropulse: yes
Astropulse v5: yes
If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications? yes

Edit : Oops, on reread I see JohnDK already said as much.

I was wondering the same thing... until I remember, I only got one AP WU in two-three months. If anybody can explain...

Well there's not that much AP work as there's MB work, so with a slower PC you wont get many, it's up to luck :)

No, I didn't know... When I upgraded about a year ago to a CUDA NVIDA 210 card, I got some Astropulse WU's for it. But not in the past six months or so.

I ran awhile with both GPU and CPU checked a few weeks ago, but no Astropulse WUs then either.

Searching for "GPU + Astropulse" did not turn up any info on the topic. I did find some recommendations to install the "Lunatics' Unified Installer" for optimized SETI@Home apps, but I can't find anything with that name on the Lunatics download site, except for Win98 (I am running XP Professional 32 bit).

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Actually I also can't find anything else than the Win98 installer on the lunatics site, there used to be a XP version. No idea why it's not there anymore...

But it wont help you doing AP on your Nvidia card anyway, it's not possible, don't know why you could a year ago

Well you can't have got Astropulse Wu's for your Nvidia GPU as there's no Stock app for it, the only Stock app for Astropulse is a CPU app, which will be what you ran then,
But now you seem to have CPU use deselected in your Setiathome Preferences, as you are only doing Cuda23 Multibeam work, and aren't doing any CPU work at all,

The last Lunatics Installer has removed from the downloads because of the increasing number of people installing the incompatible V12 Cuda app on new Fermi hardware,

V 0.36 Installer has been pulled as release of V 0.37 is imminent and the CUDA app supplied with 0.36 (V12) is incompatible with Fermis (GT 4xx series) - they mostly return false -9 overflows, which either cause resends or worse make it into the database.

Not fast enough this time of the night ;)

Wow. Ask and ye shall receive. I've been trying to refill my AP cache all weekend, and I wake up this morning to find a huge list on the transfers tab.
