And I understand little of veteran benefits. But that those who have served do not always receive the best possible care is in a word, criminal. That this is not fully funded by the bloated military budgets is mind boggling. I would not suggest you take the lack of response as disinterest. More of a "lack of words to describe". I copied the part that angers me the most in that article you linked... "For instance, injured vets no longer receive a monthly disability pension for life. Instead, they are granted a lump sum payment up to a maximum of about $276,000, based on the level of disability. The issue is that, even if invested properly, the amount equals hundreds of thousands of dollars less than what someone would have received under the previous system over the course of a normal lifetime.
