Morning all ...

I've not been able to send my result files in since August 6th, and some of them are at or pass the report

Is there some issue right now that is preventing the

Currently, the SETI servers are down, see the homepage news, but you should be able to upload from Friday to Monday.

Did you reboot your computer during that time? Sometimes buffers have to be cleared.

If you still can't upload on Friday or Saturday, you should post here again.

Gruß,
Gundolf

Was refused permission to post to an existing thread on the Science (non-SETI) message board. The reason given was that I had to have a certain number of credits before being allowed to do so. Accessed my account; it reports that I have over 78,000 credits. The system also says that I'm trying to start a new thread, which I'm not. Have not run into this problem before, have posted many times to message boards. Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Thanks. P.S. I see that my post to this thread was accepted, so the problem appears to be limited in scope. I was also refused posting access to the SETI Science board. Michael

The message you get is a bit incorrect. It's recent average credit that you need. Yours is zero, or close to zero at the moment. You need a RAC of one or more to be able to post in the main forums.

This was added as a guard against spammers and trolls. The Q&A forums are open to all, as usually when you have problems with Seti, you will not have credit (and thus RAC) either.

So, in order for you to be able to post on the main forums, you'll have to allow work, get it, crunch it, upload it and report it, then wait until it's validated against someone else.

Ageless; Thanks for your reply. I began to suspect that this was an issue over RACs rather than total credits. I have been trying to resolve the problem of not processing work units for some time. Contacted several of the volunteer troubleshooters about this, but none replied. My screensaver is frozen in the middle of processing two different work units, and says paused, user active. I don't have my preferences set to cease processing, when I'm active, so I don't really understand this. Any ideas on how to end the pause and begin processing work units again? Thanks. Michael

Do you use the web preferences or local preferences?

The local preferences override the web preferences. So changing anything on the web preferences will then not help you much (or at all). Please check what's set in BOINC Manager->Advanced view->Advanced->Preferences, processor tab. If "While computer is in use" is not checked, then this will be the culprit.

Just to add to what Ageless said, if you don't want to use the local preferences through the BOINC Manager but you check in there exit by using the clear button. If you exit using the ok or even the red X it could cause some settings to be activated if they were marked or showed as different from the web based preferences.

Also, the buttons on the Projects and Tasks tabs in the advanced view indicate what will happen if the buttons are pushed, NOT the current state.
