Been a while since I've crunched for SETI and would like to begin to do so again. I had thought to begin anew by using an optimized application. Do the installers by Lunatics do all the work? My skills are not such that I desire to mess with the BOINC directories in any way. If so which app should I install? (CPU only, Windows XP 32bit, P4 2.4GHz) |

Read this thread: Lunatics' Unified Installer (Optimized SETI) http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=54288 Lunatics' Unified Installer v0.36 post: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=54288&nowrap=true#994550 You just select the apps you want in the dialog. Use CPU-Z http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html to find out what to select (the max SSEx as appropriate for your CPU). The apps are inside the Lunatics' Unified Installer: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=54288&nowrap=true#998977 Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

Don't forget you have to download and install the stock BOINC manager and attach to SETI first and get them running, then you can run the Lunatic's installer. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

Generally Any Questions about Optimized Applications should be asked in the NC Forum. As the Developers monitor the NC Forum you are more likely to get the correct answer. That said the policy for the moderators states, when found to move a thread such as this to the NC Forum. Regards Note: For the moment I am going to let this one stay for a while. Don't forget you have to download and install the stock BOINC manager and attach to SETI first and get them running, then you can run the Lunatic's installer. Is it still necessary to install the stock manager (first or at all)? What does it do? edit: oh i see you meant the regular boinc program right? i thought you meant some extra special WUs organizer kind of tool. * Hi! I'm a signature virus!
