I am trying to add my old account to my new one. I tried to do this from the link on the home page but it said my first account is still active, so how do I deactivate it so I can get the credit?

Which old account? Your Seti Classic account? it can only be attached to a BOINC account once, with http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_classic.php

BOINC accounts cannot be merged. You will have to chose which one you want to continue with.
