There are no babies yet, but Mia goes to the Vet this evening after work for a full checkup. She has been living in our second bathroom, but if she is given a clean bill of health, we will integrate her in with the other 4 cats. She eats more than the other 4 cats combined. She is quite friendly, but hisses until she knows who is coming into her tiny bathroom world. Things have been a bit busy lately, and I think they are going to be even busier.

We took Mia to the vet, and brought a poop sample, and they took some blood. She tested negative for leukemia, but here poop tested positive for lung worms. She will be on medication for two weeks, and the prognosis is excellent. We were very glad we kept her separated, or all the other cats would now be infected with lung worms. The vet said they were quite rare, but may have been from eating dirt. Normaly they are spread from eating infected poop or saliva.

Now for the other news. She is not pregnant. In fact she has been spayed. The doctor clipped her belly, showing the old scar of a spaying. She just has a large belly, and weighs 10 pounds. Other than the worms, she is healthy. She has no microchip. So other than she has to live in the bathroom for the next two weeks, she should be fine. We got her a distemper shot, and since she has not been with us for 10 days, we can't give her the rabies shot until we take her back in a month for the distemper booster.

I's been a long day!

I am delighted that we can treat the lung worms, but I feel incredibly stupid for thinking a spayed cat was pregnant. Yep! Incredibly stupid!

It could have been worse, lung cancer or something, so just don't worry about it.

Mia's poop came back free of worms today, so we have let her into the rest of the house. Jimmy, the Himolayan is hissing at her under the bed, but so far there are no terrible fights.

I bleached the bathroom, and ended up bleaching the knees out of my work pants. Oh well!

Sounds good, Jimmy will get used to the newby in His territory, how are the others taking it?

They haven't met her yet. Mr. Pookie is tangeled up in my beard, and Mia is hiding under the bed.

Well it will get resolved I'd think, just like when I had added one cat to a house with a cat there already...

It's four boys and one girl, but everybody is fixed. Even so, you would think the four boys would welcome some female company. So far everything is smooth.

Sounds good, I'd expect nothing more than initial hissing really, which could be kitty talk for hi there, except I know it's not... But at least that's as far as I've ever seen it go.

Jimmy could consider himself the dominant cat and isn't happy you didn't ask his opinion.
We all know, Mia will be the queen in the household before long.
Thank you for the update.

So glad you get to visit kitty.

I have to get to bed right now, because I have to take Tigger II to the vet first thing in the morning.

When I got home tonight, half of her right eye was covered in a white cloud.
Was not there last night, as far as I could see.

I am very scared for Tigger's eye. It looks very bad.

Please pray for Tigger II.

It would just kill me if she lost an eye.

Meow.

The vet 'thinks' it is a simple infection.
Antibiotics and a $130.00 vet bill........paid in cash, of course.

Gladly paid if Tigger II can keep her eye.
Couple of weeks of antibiotic pills and some steroid salve once a day.
Hope that gets kitty out of the woods.

Poor Tigger is still hiding from me now that I have released her from the carrier.
