i'm having problems connecting to report and get work, i havn't seen this reported yet.

8/1/2010 10:44:45 AM	SETI@home	Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
8/1/2010 10:45:07 AM Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
8/1/2010 10:45:08 AM Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.
8/1/2010 10:45:10 AM	SETI@home	Scheduler request failed: Couldn't connect to server

perhaps it is time to remove the limits, well after you fix the first problem. :D

Take a look in http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=60895

Removing old aps in my ap.info file got rid of the "http error", but I still get "can't connect to server". No downloads since before the last 3 day outage.

i think everyone is pounding the server requesting more work, and naturally they get none cause of the limits and just keep asking for more. my rigs have been reporting after ever couple of work units are completed. perhaps the limits just need to be lifted.

I just did a detach/attach to get rid of a herd of ghosts. It first sent me one CPU and one GPU task. Next request got the couldn't connect message, third got the no work available message then the floodgates opened. I now have 120-130 work units. My DCF set itself to 1.0 and my to completion guesstimates seem to be just about right. I'm good to go.

Read my post in the other thread about reporting problems. It seems to be an error with the web server.

What's the ending of this WU?

.vlar_0, .vlar_1, .vlar_2, .. ?

It should be not 0 & 1.
If 2+ it's not a new one then it's a resend WU. This could happen the next few weeks, months..

Sutaru,
That VLAR_2 was just one of the new ones that got sent back for some reason or another. So long as it doesn't end up on your GPU it should be no problem.

Wonder if the AP splitters will be turned on before the outage.

No. Unfortunately, there is a build issue in the currently deployed AP server side SW that we are fixing now.

?

I spoke about hiamps VLAR WU.. ;-)

I use Fred's BOINC Rescheduler (V1.6) for to protect my GPU for VLAR WUs and for to avoid the famous -177 errors. :-)

Got 4 more Vlars and used the 1.6 this time...Looked thru the list but didn't see 4 that looked any different.

It sure would be cool if they could raise the work unit cache from 100 to 1000 or something due to the limited amount of download time.
