Hi all

I have acces to cell PowerPC server running Redhat 5. Because there is no client for PowerPC platform, I have compiled BOINC on my own. My problem is:
When contacting seti servers for work, ppc server autentificates as powerpc machine. So far there is no work on server, but I'm affraid that no work will be sent to me. According to this site there is only one SETI application for PPC, the MAC OS app.
Is there some way I can compile BOINC core, so some SETI work units will be sent to me?
I tried to compile it with i86_x64 architecture, but Rosetta workunits failed to compute, ended after a minute or so with error. I'm affraid SETI will behave same as Rosetta. Is there somebody that has working PPC build of BOINC and SETI running on it?

thanks, Roman

BOINC and Seti are two different things.

BOINC is the managing program, which downloads and stores tasks, uploads them, reports them, changes between science application on schedule etc. etc. It doesn't do any science itself.

Seti is one of the science programs that can run under BOINC, yet the platform that you're using must be a known one to both BOINC and the project, before BOINC will automatically download the correct science application. If BOINC can't find the science application at the project, you can either compile one yourself and run that through the anonymous platform, or you can use one of the pre-compiled versions from third party people, such as in this thread or this one.
