I just loaded it up a few minutes ago, and can confirm I am pulling about 20 to 25 watts more with my two 480's. I don't see any problems, and it's too early to notice a speed difference.

Steve

My last attempt may have been the 850w Corsair psu I was using, which was failing as I'd pushed It to the limit I guess, Now that I have the 1050w Enermax psu in place I'll try 258.96 again soon. Also the 850w psu near the end made nine #1 errors, none since the psu swap, On the BFG 295 card according to BoincTasks 0.66.

At least it wasn't on the EVGA 295. :)

True, It's on a 4x pci-e slot(which could become a 2x slot If I put a card in one of the 1x slots, As the three extra pci-e slots, a 4x/2x slot and two 1x slots are hooked up to the P35 south bridge chip, the 16x pci-e slot is attached to the north bridge chip), So It didn't use nearly as much power. As It was a lack of power that made the #1 error here, Since the swap It's been purring like a hungry cat(Diesels I'm told sound like a cat that's purring, go figure).

Thought I would be lazy and not real familiar with Nvidia I tried just upgrading the drivers...Not good, was taking twice as long so I uninstalled and tried again and they work fine. I like ATI's software removal program.

Don't be too quick, first impressions with the new driver on a GTX285 and GTS250 is that V191.07 is still the quickest. On the 250's it appears that 258.96 is 3 to 5 minutes slower on a 0.4 AR. This is with V2.3 dll's.

Testing is still in progress

I've found I like 257.15 over both 257.21 and 258.96, Sure It uses a bit more cpu than gpu, But It allows the 4 GTX295 to feed My screen better while doing seti at the same time. Sure I know 257.15 is Beta, Big deal, It works for Me, So I don't care.
