We have lost connectivity somewhere between our two routers. One of these routers is located at the Space Sciences Lab and the other at the Peering And Internet eXchange (PAIX) in Palo Alto. Until we get this problem cleared up we cannot distribute new work.

Thanks Jeff. :)

Just a question, i have a little bit of networking knowledge and i assume that issues like this can sometimes be quite hard to narrow down. Meaning it could take a few days, possible that we might not see any work this week? :)

Jeff........
Are you Matt in sheep's clothing? LOL..
Thanks again for the comms.

You don't realize, or maybe you do...how much simple little posts like yours in the last few weeks make the faithful so happy to hear from the 'mother ship'.

I hope you don't burn out soon.

And it seems that you are listening to the suggestions posted here. That is even more invaluable. Even if such postulations are not practical, you have put a couple of them into play. More than has happened in recent Seti history.

Thank You....Jeff.

Best Regards,
Mark and the kitties.

I can not express how true everything said here is.

The appreciation for little information just enough to let us know what's going on is invaluable. It really means a lot to me and im sure it does to all the other seti members too.

It is really appreciated knowing what to say when the posts start flooding in asking why no work yet! I love it when people can't be bothered reading for themselves when there's a little hiccup in the works. Hope it is something easy to fix and not too well hidden. :-)

You're right - it's hard to know. At the moment it is mostly out of my hands. The problem *seems* to be at the PAIX but, as you indicated, what seems to be the case and what turns out to be the case are often very different things.

We can log into both routers. I can ping the first hop through the PAIX facing interface on the SSL router and (I think) the first hop through the SSL facing interface on the PAIX router. But after that... nothing.

Naw, I'm Matt and Jeff in Jeff's clothing. Eric is back so at least I'm no longer Matt and Eric and Jeff in Jeff's clothing! That was getting to be confusing. :-)

Jeff - Thanks so much for the updates. Networks can be frustrating - particularly if somebody messed with something! Sometimes an encouraging word can help, so here is the encouraging word.

Jeff, take a deep breath and say "I am Jeff" twenty times - just to make sure you are Jeff and not Matt pretending to be Jeff pretending to be Matt pretending to be Jeff.........

Take care and good luck with that router
