Is there server still down? I am new to using Boinc on the Mac. Every time I try to "update" I get "Communication Deferred. Just want to make sure I am doing everything correctly.

What error is causing the "Communication Deferred"?

It just says "Communication Deferred" under the status column, with a countdown from 11 seconds to zero. Is there a log that might specify the error?

Yes, try the Messages tab, though a delay of 11 seconds usually follows a successful connection.

I had the same problem. Now it says "resuming computation". How do you see the graphical representation of the computations? Or is that just a waste of time and processor power?

You don't have any computers attached to the account you post from.

You should click the ACCOUNT link on top of this page and log off. After that click the "Your preferences" button on the Tasks tab of BOINC manager (advanced view) and log in again. Then post again here.

Thank you for your reply. I think we're getting somewhere here. When I go to the BOINC Manager - (localhost), in advanced view, I don't see a "your preferences" button? What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
Paul

You'll have to select the Projects tab and highlight SETI@home or select the Tasks tab and highlight a SETI task. Then the button should appear to the left.
