Cool video, but it looked very natural to me. Real alien ships zip suddenly and don't leave big trails.

Seen alien ships have we? lol just playing with you. But in all likelihood...who knows what they do or don't do (assuming they exist).

Orbital re-entry of a large satellite?...

The plume looks too unusual for a rocket or an aircraft.

Or?

Any comment from astronomers?

Here is an ABCnews story with some photos I haven't seen before. Not even in the video.

Much clearer picture of the apparent "windows" 20 secs thru the vid.

CNN take on it.

Personal guess.. probably one of North Koreas missles that no one wants to talk about. If so I am sure China is "discusssing" it with him privately.

I strongly suspect that it is not a North Korean missile, at least intentionally. Even the North Koreans must know that China would have a rather ruthless response, even if it were just political. I suspect that orbital imaging would have picked up a North Korean missile launch in any case, since North Korea is one of those nations which the rest of the world tends to try to watch fairly closely.

If it was some sort of test gone bad, it's probably a Chinese missile.

Don't know about the other image but the one above is very easy!

  • Note the ghost imaging due to camera shake over a long exposure;
  • Note the v-shaped illuminated haze to the left that is very typical of a search-light beam;
  • Note the periodic circular dots next to the main over-exposed streak, typical of the double flash of a strobe light...

That's just an aircraft flying near an airport with it's landing lights on flying through a hazy night.

Nothing alien there!
