All I have is number and info on a page.. just like this one. I have absolutely no visual. Years and years ago, I joined, when it first began and there was an image projected that we were to monitor. What's going on??

What do you need? The screen saver?
In Windows, make sure the screen saver is set to BOINC. Set its start time at a minute after you allow your system to go idle, or at any time you want if you set your preferences to use the computer always.

Or you can open BOINC Manager, then in Simple view click the middle graphic where it says "graphics available", or in Advanced view go to the tasks tab, select the running task and click Show graphics.

You don't have to monitor the screen saver or the graphics. Seti isn't now and never was a project where you have to eye-ball the evidence.

If you can't get the screen saver to work or the graphics to show up, first check your display drivers. They need OpenGL capability. This isn't in the Windows installed drivers, they only add DirectX support. To get OpenGL support you will have to install the drivers from the videocard's manufacturer (more precisely, the GPU's manufacturer).

First I thought you were speaking of the screensaver, but when I read your profile, one sentence caught my eye:
Well, back then there was a visual of outer space (for lack of a better term.. I've only had 1/2 cup of coffee) and you were supposed to watch it for changes or movement.

I'm pretty sure that you are not speaking of SETI@home in that quote, as I'm SETI@home member since 19 Sep 2000 and never had to watch anything myself; only my computer(s) analyzed downloaded data.

There is however a new initiative, SetiQuest, where the members are asked to participiate themselves.
