If American Independence day holidays are any thing like English Bank holidays .

If they fall at the weekend we would have Monday in loo of Sunday. (Double time payments for Bank Holidays or for the love of it)

Which means it could be Tuesday before they get back in. Just in time for the weekly outage.

Well, another day w/o any GPU work just because CPU have good cache of work...
This per host limit starts to really annoy me. It's plain stupid to leave one computing device idle only because another one has enough work to do.
There are some workarounds exist of course (as usual with any artifical limitations), seems time to check them.

Main rig with 4 GPU's idle because 4 CPU cores working through 50 VLAR's.
It has been working it's way through about 1500 of them.
Could have used VLAR_KILL but decided that they would have to be done my someone.
As a consequence cold GPU's.
I wonder how long it will be before a VLAR storm hits and lots of rigs suffer the same fate.

256 VLAR's will take some time to get through.
Takes my AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 965 Quad 2 hrs each.4 at a time so does about 50 per day.

True, i have 2 other rigs one has a decent cache left but the other is on 20 task limit we just have to hope it will all balance out and that this is just a temporary measure to ease server load amongst other things.

my main cruncher doesnt got any cpu work atall, its atm using the backup einstein to keep crunchingh wich i yust setuped as seti fails to keep my pc crunchingh

wanted to only focus on seti but seems i need to find other projects that are nice to use

atm yust got gpu task from seti

my dual cores did get a couple of cpu workunits but rather had those on my main crunchmachine

Because of the SETI@home server say not the max limit, I guess something is wrong here.

I believe the Milkyway Limit is 6 Tasks per Core

Got 11 WUs 15 minutes ago to go with the remaining 50 of the 78 given before the outage. So I'm Fine for the Time Being.

My Guess is this new limit Includes everything (In Progress/Valid/Pending/Errored) hopefully I'll be able to get a few more when all this gets written to the database.

It could be correct, 6 WUs/CPU-Core, but I don't know, because MilkyWay is only a secondary project of me and I have not much knowledge about.

I have there an Intel Core2 Duo E7600 @ 2x 3.06 GHz with OCed GTX260-216.
If CPU & GPU enabled in the preferences, BOINC get only max 12 GPU WUs.
After every UL/report of a result, a new GPU WU DLed. Again 12 WUs in BOINC.


Now here at SETI@home, I don't know.. BOINC got only 2 GPU WUs after the 3 day maintenance. Not more, although every ~ 10 mins UL/report of a result.


I have set 10 days (for to bridge planned and unplanned outages/maintenances).
BOINC is now down to 6 days or something (because of no new WUs DLed).
Current 150 CPU & 849 GPU WUs in BOINC. BOINC ask for new work but get:
Message from server: No work sent
Message from server: This computer has reached a limit on tasks in progress

If the WU cache is down to zero and BOINC get only 20 WUs/host in progress..
How it should go with the ReSchedule tool? :-|
CUDA VLARkill app usage? -> damaged quota - backlog (counter) in BOINC -> no request of new work -> idle. :-|


The people which could DL, how big you set your WU caches?
And how much (days & WUs) you have in your BOINC?

My top producing rig is about to run out of Cuda work now....
Got about 37 VLAR left on the CPU, so another Cuda card sucking wind.

And the really cute part is in addition to the 37 VLAR that rescheduler counts, I have about 34 AP WU's at about 7 hours each in the cache as well.

So, unless things get fixed here soon, that Cuda is gonna be sucking wind for a long time.

I checked the cricket graphs, and the pattern is very different than it has been. It seems very binary in its nature, without much work being transfered.
