Please help, I've been using SETI@home for a little while and I would like to give Astropulse a try. However, I cannot figure out where to go to download the software. Please tell me where I could go to install Astropulse, and how to do so... THANKS!!! ~Timewarp |

Please help, Astropulse WU (Work Units) are just another component of Seti and are issued automatically. It's just a luck of the draw if you get one. There are only about one AP created for every 30 Seti Enhanced (also know as MB or Multibeam) WU. AP use the same data recordings as MB but in larger blocks of data for its type of analysis, therefore the 1:30 ratio. I personally haven't gotten one in months but I don't crunch exclusively for the Seti project. To ensure that you have requested that the project send you Astropulse WU, check your account's SETI@home preferences and make sure you have the selected Astropulse: yes Astropulse v5: yes If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications? yes There is no specific toggle as yet for the newer AP v5.05, so the last option is needed to allow the project to send them. There is a way to force Boinc to only ask for the AP WU but that involves creating a special file and placing it in the Seti project folder. Not something I would suggest for a novice. It can also result in long periods of time when no AP work would be available leaving your system idle. Boinc V7.2.42 Win7 i5 3.33G 4GB, GTX470 |
