Hi.

I was having the same problem with the avatar and the image in my profile. It's a long drawn out process of changing to the new image and updating BOINC. I do not remember my exact steps. Just select your new image and update BOINC until it takes. Just in case you're not sure on how to update: bring up BOINC and click the projects tab. Do a right click on the SETI project and click update in the popup menu.

I've also noticed that the SETI site does some weird things to the image when it gets uploaded, such as with your avatar of Quark. My original was an image of Spock and wanted to put my image in instead. It looked really ugly so I tried switching back to Spock and that image didn't look like the original upload. Go figure....

Okey, can see that Quark is on and look rather ugly. Before Quark i had Worf and i deed as you descript but could see that nothing happened, mean while as i have come back from work i show's as you said Quark. Quali is not like the original file. :'( I hope they'll figure it out one day. :-)

Well, I don't think that there is anything that can be done to make Quark look any uglier. The Ferengi are just plain ugly. Good business men, but ugly. Anyway, just do as I suggested, switching the steps around, it will eventually change to the image you want. As I stated, I don't remember exactly the way I did mine.

Hey,

I found the quickest method to change your avatar is to add the image of your choice via site prefs. Make boinc update as described above. Then, quit the boinc client fully, and restart it. This method has always worked for me without exception. It seems that issuing an update is not quite enough, almost
like a session variable is set that doesn`t expire whilst the client is running.
