Somebody must have done something, I can now see all my tasks on the tasks page. Still can't get very far into them as most don't even show who my wingman is but at least it's an improvement. Of course all of them are pending except two. One I'm waiting to time out because the validater missed it and the other someone managed to report. Before, I could only go back a couple of days.

(Grasping at straws here trying to find something good to say! :-) )

It's the panic thread because every time there is a problem a bunch of people PANIC!!!! Have I done something wrong? Why won't my computer get new work? Did someone drop a bomb on Berkeley? :-)

It would be great if they had multiple back up computers but they barely have enough money to keep the ones they do have running. This project is run on donations. Occasionally one of the big computer manufacturers will donate some equipment but it is usually stuff they would like evaluated or refab stuff they don't need anymore or don't know if it even works. Berkeley only provides space for SAH to set their equipment and provides some of their bookkeeping and a bit of webspace for them.(For which they take a small percentage of SAH's donations.)They do not provide any funds for this project.SAH is working on a shoestring and always have been.

I run on a shoestring too! One machine has no GPU and 750 Vlars, other machine has 50 CPU, 100 GPU and I'm almost out of beer too!

Come on over! I've got a bunch of beer! My rig is dormant, but I have beer.

There are some downloads about but the 100 unit limit is still in force

I had 1 machine that was totally out of units and had no uploads pending. When I updated SAH, it scored 120 units (all GPU) and then the 100 unit error kicked in.

Lucky one...

I only got CPU WU's and my CUDA (Fermi) is still idle because of the "limit"...

That's a good thing so long as he isn't waiting for you to finish off the beer before he tells you he broke your lawnmower. :-)

Just got back from my local (pub).
Had a few beers and watched the Germans thrash Australia 4-0.
Still a good night.

As far as I can tell, I still have enough work on my 3 machines to get through tomorrow.

I've definitely got enough work for my PCs to last through the day....I've stopped them 'crunching'! Mainly because, there is nowhere for any of it to go, when it is finished. At the moment, that is. I'll wait for things to settle down.

Hi Geek@Play
at least your also an old timer, almost as long doing Seti@home as I have been,
I stopped crunching for a few years, when boinc first came out and had so many issues for the older computers that had done "Classic" work units.

That they are. The good ol' cricket graph shows the connection is only half maxed, everything must just be takin' a bit to get going.

Crap, and here I was hoping for another 24 hours of downtime for the upload server :-)

Sten-Arne

The S@H team probably seen us drinking beer and saying it wont be up till after maintenance. So they decided they'd laugh it up and fix it so we look stupid. :P

Another alternative, they want to get as much stuff into the database as possible so they can clean it up with the maintenance. That way there isn't a huge amount of data still out in the field for an extra week without maintenance maybe?

Just had one of 15 pending go up. Still too many pending to download, and I will probably run out of crunchables in about 4 or 5 hours. It's down to the wire folks, will new WUs comne through in time? Film at eleven.

Yeah, I guess we're looking silly now :-)

Anyhow, I've got lots of WU's already uploaded, and lots of new work downloaded. So even if the system goes down again soon, I just got myself another 10 days of work.

Sten-Arne

Ahh very nice. :) Hopefully i can get a new 10 day cache before it dies.
