Upgrading from BOINC 6-10-43 to BOINC 6-10-56. After downloading 9 computers to this latest version unable to get it to load on my 10th computer. Running Window Vista Ultimate on a QUAD core and after giving the machine permission to download the latest version the message "ERROR READING SETUP INTIALIZATION FILE'. Have tried to download the 6-1-56 version from a number of different projects site. Have rebooted a number of times to no avail. Any ideas of what I have to do to get this latest version?

Delete your temporary internet files and the installer. Then download the file again from the BOINC web site (don't download from other sites, you never know what they did with it).

I/ve tried DIsabling Security etc
even UNistalled/REinstalled BoinC
same result
note another Project[Rosetta] seemed to Work ok
SetI/BoinC worked Ok a few Days ago
(when servers where online)

UNinstalled Boinc
Reinstalled BoinC
RESET Computer
Reset Project
No Tasks available
but SetI appears to be Ok
will wait and see IF Tasks appear

it looks like boinc forgot where the app is at. did you install boinc to the same folders as the previous version you ran. Usually, BOINC will set the data to documents and settings/all users/application data(usually hidden)/BOINC/
on XP but it allows you to change the directory. If you didnt install BOINC to the old folders just reinstall it and choose the correct folders.
