Why would someone, with a self proclaimed deep belief in God, even bother to be a participant in health care insurance?
Those who “truly believe” always seem to hedge their bets with health coverage, home insurance, retirement plans and other forms of coverage.

Why?
Do they truly believe that God's will should be done? Do they think they need to help God in some way by having insurance?
Why bother with health care insurance when the “true believer” can fall on their knees and pray for a cure?

Of course, this brings the question: If the ailment is God's will, is a prayer going to make God reconsider?
“Hmmm, My will was to allow Fritz to suffer and/or die of (insert painful condition here) but that was such a good prayer that I'll change my plans for the universe and heal him instead.”

Why do the “true believers” bother visiting doctors? By their own claims, and many quotes in their Bible, all they need to do is pray for good health every day and it should be so.

I suppose the “true believers” aren't quite so certain about the likelihood of prayer being answered as they might claim to others.

It's like a jerky president from the past, let's call him George W. Bush, going on and on about God's will but still surrounding himself with Secret Service protection. If bonehead were indeed a “true believer” he would have accepted God's will and dismissed the protection of mere men. If it were God's will that he would not die, the bugger could have walked the streets of Baghdad naked and alone while bellowing curses through a bullhorn. But he would never put his faith to the test in that manner, would he.

I think the same can be said about “true believers” who always seem to end up in the hospitals of man rather than relying on the will of their God to save them from whatever outcome life has in store for them.
I say put your faith to the test and refuse the aid of men while exercising your right to freedom of religion. Pray to your God as your form of health care. Once a “true believer” has reached the age of consent, which wouldn't be that often without pharmaceuticals and human health care, I fully support their right to rely completely upon their God to keep them alive and healthy.

Slightly off topic, but I find it interesting the difference in how deeply religious people and those who are agnostic/atheist approach to the inevitability of death.

A couple of examples from my family history: my mother died almost a year ago. She was a life-long atheist and accepted her impending death calmly, just another event to experience – albeit the final experience. About four years ago, an aunt (a born-again, fire and brimstone type Christian) died in a world of tears and fear and denial to the very end.

True enough. I did a little googling but couldn't find any proper studies on the subject, so flip a coin and the results would be just as valid.

I see so much wrong in the God theory, I have never been able to 'buy' in to it.

I know too many that disregard what the bible teaches while the go along during the week hoping that by attending church on Sunday, things will even out. That some way, God will forgive them and their ticket to heaven still has a face value.

I can understand that many seek an answer to the 'Big Question'. Any believer can't or wont digest the posiblilty that its as simple as 'replication of the species'.

Whats all this mean now that a group of scientist can make 'made to order' DNA?

Why do the Republican's believe there is no enviromental problems with the climate? Is it a belief that God would not allow humans to effect Earths climate?
A lot of republican's I know will NOT pay attention to any science that might confict with their belief in God. There is no other evadence IF.. you dont see it?

There are 6.7 Billion (estimated) people on this planet. Each new human adds to the burdon of God's responsiblility. Do you think he/she hear's you?

I tried God and it didnt add up. Blind Faith is not for me. There is nothing that shows me there is one. While it doesn't work for me, for many it does work and thats fine but like those that are gay.. its YOUR CHOICE.. NOT MINE. If I do NOT want my life to be controlled by it, its my right. Just because its YOUR LIFE STYLE.. I do NOT think I need to see it or Be forced to be part of it. (NetWork Cable programs are becoming the biggest supporter of the 'Gay' life style). Its getting harder and harder to find a program that is gayless. Even SG: Universe... Flash Forward and other sci-fi shows contain lesbian crap. There is love and then there is Sex and.... well... I guess Im male for a reason and its NOT to mate with a male.
I dont have to belief in God to understand Nature didnt create the human species to work like this. Its the human mind that gets in the way of nature. Our intelligence is effecting every part of this planet. We have managed to destory many other life forms... consume them until they are nearly extinct or worse. Oil.... Millions of years to create... and gone (estimated) with in 50-100 years.

I dont care if you disagree.. It is, after all, your right. If you think im crazy and make no sense, thats fine too. Before you judge MY IDEA's look at your own ideas and think carefully about where the truth is within these ideas?
Does it exsist or is it only on paper?

Im sorry if I offend... Its not what Im about. Seriously.

Here's some more interesting things I find.

Why is it, when ever I mention to anyone that I crunch signals looking for signs of alien life, 9 out of 10 times, I get a negative response. I think I need to just say im crunching numbers for some football team, looking for the perfect quaterback. I bet 9 out of 10 will want to know more about it.
I dont talk about my computers much and what they are doing now. Not many think there is life out there.
Even I am having doubts we will ever find what we are looking for. NOT because its not there but rather, because the distances are so vast, I worry the signals have become intermixed in the cosmic noise and rendered undetectable. I still crunch numbers and this is my project of choice. How do you define insanity? Doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results.

How about the Tea Parties. Anyone here remember the 'Boston Tea Party' and what if was? It was the start of revolution. Is this what these people are talking about? Is it what they are after? After reading what I can find, I find this very upseting. With voices like Sarah Palin behind this.. Maybe one should not take them to seriously. Glen Beck is not as hateful as Limbaugh but still, they both inject the un-thinking masses with hate and distrust of every aspect of the government. People seem to forget that these 2 are in 'show busniess' and have signed major contracts to continue spitting out crap that upsets people. It is, what they do and it is, what they are getting paid for.

Here's a short story:
There is guy I work with that wanted me to help him work on his car.
If found out, this car is at his mothers house in her garage.
Soo.. after working on his car, we went in to his mothers house so he could introduce me to her.
He said.. 'Mother.. this is Mike.. A liberal from Washington State' ( I used to live there)
With no smile or grin he's mom looked at me and said:
"Washington? There isnt many chruches there."
I thought WTF? and answered:
"Im not sure where you get your information but, there are churches all over the place. There just isnt as many religious fanatics there." and gave her a nice grin.
Im not 100% liberal or conservative. I think there is virtue with in both ideas.

This is how screwed up the right is becoming. They here the never ending lies about liberals from Beck and Limbaugh and with out (key works here) a thought, beleive it.

I wonder how long any of these people would last in a 'real' job where you get paid for being productive and responsible for the quality of your work.

To say so is anti-american. If you are a citizen of the United States of America, then who ever is elected IS your president. Im tired of seeing people say this crap. "He aint my president.. I didnt vote for him"... I think these people skipped a few classes in school. I wasn't a fan of G. W. Bush and didnt vote for him but.. his was, none the less, my president and deservered the respect as being such. I watched every speech he did. I later found out, the guy who's car I help fix has NOT watched and will not watch a single speech Obama has done. His hate for Obama is obvious but whats more obvious is, if he did watch, he may just find out that what he hears on the radio is not actually the truth. I should also mention this person believes global warming is total BS that was invented by the democratic party. He also refuses to read any data either at NOAA's site or any other. He also will not look at any other data such as pictures of the ice caps.. what Ice Land's scientist are saying or any thing that might disagree with what he knows to be the truth. If he doesn't see the data, it doesnt exist and therefore, wont upset his beliefs. I should also mention, he does NOT know who Stephen Hawking is because he refuses to learn any thing about science that might change his belief that the world is 6,000 years old.

Im not ANTI God. As I said before, it works well for many and after all, there is no proof he doesnt exist. As Dr. Carl Sagan has quoted... "lack of evidence is not evidence of lack" For me.. I need a little bit more then 'Words'. This is why I dont believe in Roswell but do believe that this planet may have been visited long ago by ETs.

They are so percise, according to modern day artist, they would need the help of CNC machine tools to reproduce it. Last time I checked, there were no tools of this nature 100 years ago let alone, thousands of years ago. If you think this is interesting.. search for more images about Puma Punku. Grooves in some of the pieces have intesecting holes that are as clean as what a modern carbide drill produces but with one interesting detail. There is no chipping of any kind on the edges of these holes. They almost look as if they where burnt in to the stone such as what you would get using EDM in steel. (Electro-Discharge-Machining)
