Dr. Steven Greer

Humanitarian & saviour OR Charlatan?

What is your considered opinion?

If he is being truthful, his chances of success?
If he is being deceitful, his motives for doing what he does?

Dr. Steven Greer believes in the stuff he talks about. But that does not mean he is correct.

There are many clever, highly educated people, who believe in, and speak about complete rubbish.

He is telling the truth, as he believes the truth to be. Doesn't make it right.

Donegal_TDI do you believe in some of the things Steven Greer talks about?

Maybe there is a hint of truth in some of what he says,
but call me the cautious type,
there is no way in God's earth the lid could be held so tight on the issues he refers to by the world's various governments.
However, Edgar Mitchell ex NASA astronaut has come out with
some strange stuff in recent past.
Unless he has been zapped by one too many cosmic rays,
this may give credance to Greers position.

Free energy worldwide would have huge ramifications and unpredictable results in terms of political, social and the world economy as a whole.
Maybe this is what they are scared of,
not necessarily the impact on petrodollars
but the chaos that could ensue.
Vast quantities of free energy in a trigger happy society
does not bode well.

Even the various religious organisations,
who normally do extremely well when people are getting it hard,
run the risk of getting knocked out of their respective lucrative nests,
and would end up having to get a proper job like the rest of us
rather than predating on the sick, elderly and bewildered,
and go get a wife-partner rather than raping our children.

Maybe they were warned of this by our "friends" (if they exist) who no doubt have a past history on the matter.

I really would like to hear others views on this.

All good folklore, psuedoscience, UFO sightings etc. have a hint of truth to them. This hint is what gives the false validity to crazy theories... Perhaps its human nature to see a bit of truth and gleen a whole cloth truth from the little bit

Why would a UFO story from an astronaut be any more credible than a UFO story from a guy here on the ground? There are observatories here on earth with 10 meter mirrors staring at space continuously, they never manage to catch alien's in the images. But old guys here on earth, including aging astronaut's, with failing eyesight seem to want to be taken seriously. A 10 meter telescope never tells lies, and never dreams, and gets tired, and never gets scared, and never watches alien movies........ and funny, but they never seem to see alien space craft in the images.

Yes, teleportation from here to another galaxy would also have massive ramifications, but this does not mean its possible!. I have worked in electrical engineering for about 20 years now. Trust me when i tell you that there is no such thing as "free energy". Energy always comes from somewhere. The laws of the conservation of energy are concrete today. They will still be concrete in a million years time. Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only changed from one form to another. That's rock solid.

However, electrical energy can be generated very cheaply, cheaper than electricity company's supply it today. But just like paying your local council for clean drinking water, its not free to clean it and pump it into your house. Electricity is the same, it cost money to generate it and get in into your house or car. Nobody is covering up anything, from an engineering point of view, its very difficult to store energy and efficiently convert it to different forms. Very difficult!!!! Energy is always lost when you try to store it, its lost to heat and other stuff.

Even the various religious organisations,
who normally do extremely well when people are getting it hard,
run the risk of getting knocked out of their respective lucrative nests,

I think science is the new religion of the future, i have already converted to this way of thinking.

As regards free energy, I was referring to "cost" as opposed to source. Like yourself, my career has given me a sound grounding in such matters re the conservation of energy :)

Greer's take on this is that a small quantity of the fabric of so called empty space can be efficiently converted using alien technology to a usable power source, comparable but vastly greater in magnitude, to that which is released by controlled nuclear reactions. This according to his experts, can be done on the fly, hence no fuel tanks on a saucer to store vast quantities of propellant.

He says one cubic metre could be converted into sufficient energy to run USA utilities for a day.

I listened to the testimonies of his witnesses years ago,
and I'm currently listening to more recent ones as I drive about.
Will report back in due course as to what side of the fence I find myself on.

I still would like to hear the view of others here.

There are many inaccurate accounts of sightings based on false perceptions. Most people aren't really in tune with their minds and senses, and don't realize how easily both can be fooled into seeing something that isn't there, or just flat out seeing something incorrectly. A person sees something out of the ordinary, and their mind links it to existing references in their memory or imagination, creating something completely new. I know people, for example, that swear they see ghosts. However these "sightings" are little more than a play of light, shadow and motion, coupled with paranoid fear linked to ancient survival instincts. I've been there when they've "seen things", and could easily identify what they were seeing and why.

As for secrets....quite a few secrets are kept from the public because either 1)the item in question is linked to national security, or 2)the government believes that disclosure of certain information would be detrimental to society in some way. And then there are "secrets" that aren't really secrets at all, they are simply non-existant entities conjured by the incorrect perceptions and imagination of people. Personally I've never liked things being kept secret, especially if those things have intrinsic scientific value. I also know it's dangerous to stick your nose into certain places, especially if you're going to be overt about it.

If Dr Greer is seeking truth, then more power to him. The problem with people like this is that they may become obsessed, and begin to manufacture evidence to support their work. Therefore, as in any other subject I will rely on my own intellect to draw conclusions from whatever is discovered.
