Okay, panic of epic proportions. ::arm flail:: [/sarcasm]

For the first time in.. at least 5 years.. I'm..idle. 4-day cache has failed me! In the past when people start going into a real, genuine panic because their 10-day cache now only has 9.97 days of work in it, I would go a week or more on my 4-day cache and admittedly, had a few close calls, but never had idle cores. Now, in approximately 11 minutes, system idle process will report 99%. Guess I'll see what my non-loaded CPU temps are since I have never actually had idle CPUs to get that baseline.

Message 995200

Managed to get 39 MB's.. I suppose that's sufficient to get through the Tuesday recovery when hopefully more tapes get put online. Switched to NNT until then.

I have a 3 day WU cache and have enough WUs on my both machines.

IIRC, someone said in the TNews that for a (short) time we'll have less new WUs available than normally. I don't know why.

Downloaded two new WUs about 30 minutes ago. Just plain luck I guess.

Both of my current crunchers have full caches, my iMac even has a newly split AP unit.

Running down the C2D laptop on purpose - only 6 tasks left. That'll all be done tonight. What I do after, whether I take it offline, crunch more SETI or run it on another project for a while, I haven't decided.

My old Celeron has 4 tasks in it's cache. That's over 64 hours of crunching. It won't notice any outage.

As for the i7, I've got a load of Cosmology WU's to get through before I even touch the 10 days worth of S@H tasks that have cached.

Say I know why It's petering to nothing, It's cause It's not Cricket. ;)

What is interesting is that as shown on the Cricket graph, the decline was slow and steady, not the instantaneous changes we often get.

My case has built-in air filters on the intake side, in the form of 10 5-1/4 bay covers. Every few weeks I pop them out and run hot water through them backwards. Works like a champ.

Does anyone know if the upload problem will be resolved today?

I have 247 uploads pending and not enough wu's to get me through the weekend.

Well, I'm running a three day cache and the guesstimates are pretty close to right but it looks like I may only make it to Sunday if I'm lucky.

Oh well, I've been out of work before and I survived, guess I'll make it through again if they don't get it fixed soon.
