I know that this has been posted elsewhere but it took me some digging around to discover this issue. So I feel it's worth posting in a separate thread, especially when it makes such a big difference.

I have an older CUDA graphics card and for the past two weeks it has processed virtually nothing, and yet at the same time, I've seen a stack of CUDA based tasks build up on my BOINC task list but never execute.

There is another post here that tells you to switch off Aero in Windows 7 so that the NVIDIA GPU will have enough free resources to run your tasks. Just choose a desktop theme out of the 'basic; or 'high contrast' set, not one of the Aero themes.

The difference is amazing, before I think I completed about eight CUDA based tasks in two weeks, now in the past day I must have done fifteen.
