Hey guys downloaded BOINC on the 29th April i believe. Turned on my PC today to start crunching numbers for the next 8hrs, then i noticed that my client has decided to download ~150 GPU tasks.
Is this normal?

CPU tasks seem fine btw, the manager will only download another task once one has been finished.

Ive been reading around and it seems the SETI servers calculate how many Wu's you receive depending on your system specs. Basic specs i have a I7-950 + 2x GTX280. However only one card is been used for crunching.

For BOINC 6.10.43 it's normal yes. That version of the client has a bug in it which will allow it to download work for the GPU, even while the GPU is stuck in a task.

So do check that your GPU is actually going through these and if it isn't, that you reboot your system regularly. If you do not want to do that, you could either set Seti to not use the GPU for now (in project preferences) and wait for the next client to be released, or go back to BOINC 6.10.18 (which is now recommended).

It's best not to use the development client available from the BOINC download pages at this time due to other (different) bugs.

be aware that you GPU will heat a great deal when crunching Seti. pay attention to you temps and adjust your fans accordingly.

Also if you decide to stop crunching on the GPU just head to your preferences and say NO to "run on nvidia GPU if available"
