Is it normal for me to have no work available to process? or is there something wrong with this? The project ran out of work, while most of the splitters are down (See server status). So in that case, it's quite normal for everyone to run out of work. We'll just have to wait for someone to get into the office again on Monday morning California time (UTC - 8 hours) to fix things. If you want to have work, you can always attach to any of the other projects that are out there. |

You may also want to set up in your computing preference that seti@home downloads a small cache of work units in case things like this happen. I have all my computers set to keep enough work for 3 days and I have never ran out of work other than when the whole project goes down for long periods which is fairly rare! |

If I bump up the cache in general (say x3) after there are more CPU tasks available, won't it also triple the CUDA tasks in cache? I've got MORE than enough of those cached now. I've got 8 cores barely doing anything (no jobs) but 2 CUDA tasks running constantly with tons more waiting to be done... I know I can turn off the CUDA, but I would like to be doing those as well. I just don't want a bajillion CUDA packages in cache waiting for one of two GPUs while my 8 CPU cores are just sitting around doing next to nothing. Is there any way I can specify how much of each work package type to cache, if I increase the cache? |

I know I can turn off the CUDA, but I would like to be doing those as well. You can set your preferences to not download CUDA tasks, without disabling the processing of already downloaded ones. That would be some sort of "micro managing" because you have to reenable downloading of CUDA tasks after some time, but hopefully some future BOINC release will be able to better handle mixed caches on its own.
