Im thinking of turining a old pc into a dedicated Boinc client that will run Seti@Home and other Boinc projects 24/7, im also planning on putting Linux on it as it uses less resources so will run better on a old machine then Windows, im looking for a version of Linux that has a low energy consumption, any suggestions anyone? |

you might try Dotsch's yellow dog version. Its stripped down and IIRC has BOINC preinstalled. Its capable of running from a thumb drive. Check his thread for more details. I know Ubuntu is a popular Linux distro. I'm not aware of how well it works. I run a Mandriva box that is fairly simple to install and run.
