Just got my copy of today's Times. On the back page of the Week in Review they have an article called "What Makes an Equation Beautiful". "Physics World magazine recently asked readers to send in nominations for the best equations of all time. Euler's equation was one of the most popular. It has wide application in understanding the motion of any type of wave, including light" For those not familiar with the equation (or the delivery boy didn't stop by) it's e^(Ài) + 1 = 0. The caption continues... "One respondent said of this equation: 'What could be more mystical than an imaginary number interacting with real numbers to produce nothing?'" Since I didn't see a:b::a+b:a or x=x+1, I wonder what other equations should have been listed. |

On your touchtone phone, if you had the numbers diagonaly, the sums are the same. 159 + 951 = 1110 753 + 357 = 1110 |

1+1=2 came in third alongside E=mc^2 (Einstein) and S=k*ln(W) (Boltzmann) |

Type 713705 on your calculator and turn it, what do you see ? |

I know: ROT(713705,180°)="SOLEIL". |

Good luck finding a "P". |

It's an ascending (L-R,T-B) 3 x 3 grid. Your center numbers will always add up to identical totals assuming a static interval between populated digits. Therefore a "d" would serve your purpose quite well... :o) Stewie: So, is there any tread left on the tires? Or at this point would it be like throwing a hot dog down a hallway? Therefore a "d" would serve your purpose quite well... :o) Yeap, but what about the "T" I knew about the grid, I was just playing stupid. Was I ? Or is it my true nature ? Get me my psy now !!! |

So much for equations... |

> So much for equations... We are just doing what we can here ! While in school I was playing with my calculator trying to form words, watching the clock and fishing in my nose while the teacher was trying to make me learn something. Ok I will make an effort and find a good one. Just give me some time to go back in my old engeneering books. |

Ha Ha !!! Beat that. Taken from my Thermodynamics exam. This equation shows why american weight lifter needs to take steroids. |

Ah, but it is elegant? It also occurred to me that x=x+1 is not an equation, but rather an increment operation in computing (Oops!). Solving it would result in: x = x + 1 x - x = 1 0 = 1 |
