if boinc is started on different port, boinccmd and boincmgr cannot connect but 3rd party apps can connect like boinctasks.

eg:
boinc -detach -gui_rpc_port 31417 -allow_remote_gui_rpc

executing:
boinccmd --get_state
boinccmd --get_state --gui_rpc_port 31417
would result in cannot connect to localhost

whats the deal, here?

i tried on boinc verions 6.10.18, .36, .43, .45

eg:
boinc -detach -gui_rpc_port 31417 -allow_remote_gui_rpc

You use single hyphens, they should be double.

So boinc.exe --detach --gui_rpc_port 31417 --allow_remote_gui_rpc

Apropos of nothing, the next version of BOINC will allow <allow_remote_gui_rpc> from the cc_config.xml file.

I forgot to mention that - single hyphens or double does the same thing.

In boincmgr, I don't think it works as you can't pass a different port in the parameter.
