Hi Raistmer, well done, what card would do better, a HD5770 (Single Precision) or an HD4850 (Double_Precision), probably both ;-).

I installed on both my 4770 and 5850 now all I need is a WU to see if it works

As stated in corresponding thread, 5xxx ability to work is very questionable right now.

Does this OpenCL version work on OpenCL enabled nVidia cards?

Does this OpenCL version work on OpenCL enabled nVidia cards? This "OpenCL" version doesn't work on NV GPUs, under OS X, on CELL CPUs, on PS3 and so on and so forth. It works as stated, on ATI GPUs (and not on all of them). Sources can be built to work on NV GPUs, I tried it already, but performance not so impressive to offer such build instead of currently available CUDA MB app. Better use NV GPUs for SETI MB while ATI GPUs for SETI AP now.

BTW, there are updated Brook-based ATI AP builds for all ATI GPUs starting from 2xxx models, 5xxx included.

BTW, there are updated Brook-based ATI AP builds for all ATI GPUs starting from 2xxx models, 5xxx included. An Error Has Occurred! The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you. ???? What does it take that I obviously don´t have? ChrisD ____________

I'm not allowed to see the beta testing according to the lunatics site

I'm not allowed to see the beta testing according to the lunatics site AFAIK 5 meaningful posts on Lunatics required to get into beta area. After semi-public beta app will go to general public, but it could take some time. Meanwhile you can look at my host [quad with ATI installed] on main to see what speed one can expect from this app. EDIT: Also: "In the meantime, if there are Guests who wish to actively participate as members of Lunatics and post re: Beta testing of pre-release applications, you may PM me at the S@H main board, ID = Gecko_R7. Include a link to your Seti@home or Seti Beta host, a brief description of your testing rig, and general experience level/comfort with CPU / GPU testing and ability to work with custom app_info.xml and config. files."

No bugs that could affect current AP build detected in new SDK. SDK 2.01 was really buggy one, this 2.1 release much better. AP runs on 5770 GPU too now, it means no double support required and 5xxx GPU can be used. With old SDK only 48xx GPU were able to produce correct results...

Personally, I will be scared the day ATI support arrives mainstream at SETI@home. I appreciate all Lunatics does - and it does it beautifully! It's just it will be abused by credit whores.

Personally, I will be scared the day ATI support arrives mainstream at SETI@home. I appreciate all Lunatics does - and it does it beautifully! It's just it will be abused by credit whores. Very strange position, I already pointed that at your post about person who owns many hosts. Try to understand, not everyone who attempt to do more work for SETI and granted big RAC due [s]his efforts do it for credits. Big RAC if no cheating involved really means big science done. What point to leave project then?.... GPU is just another device for doing work. If you strong in math, no one forbid you to do WUs manually or with calculator, your RAC would be in fempto-cobblestones probably, but it will be _very_ hard earned one. Do you really think that task computed in so inefficient way will be any better than task produced by GPU owned "credit whore"? Don't think so ;)
