Be good if those who want to use AMD with seti maybe start to badger AMD about it. If enough users do it then maybe they will wake up and help the guys write one...

I would love to buy AMD, the 5xxx series is really good, but I won't buy a card unless it supports BOINC

No GPU brand or manufacturer at the moment "supports BOINC", so that's not going to fly. BOINC does support ATI and Nvidia GPUs, so there's no reason then that he can't buy that card. :-]

I think he meant to say he wants ATI to "support Seti", but that's something completely different and demands like that will probably get you booted off their support forums. Still, not tried == no. :-)

Maybe, but it doesn't hurt to try does it? Just saying LOL land will not change anything...
Until enough ati customers complain, there won't be an issue as far as they are concerned.

Might try a facebook campaign, as Im annoyed about it, especially with the failure called fermi...

I contacted ATI via their support page asking them to please help SETI@Home work on their GPUs about a month ago. No success yet. :)

It would be nice if we would have the possibility to calculate SETI@home Enhanced (and maybe also AstroPulse 100 % on GPU) also on ATI GPUs.

This would be here then a nice competition between ATI and nVIDIA GPUs.. ;-)

Astropulse 100% on gpu is what I really want. All I have is NV cards bc I just bought them for SETI (a lot of them). Both on ATI and NV cards, that would be an awesome competition, and very good for users with powerfull machines (thus to the project results). My guess is if that happens I would never buy an NV card again bc ATI should be way better from performance/cost/energy (all that matters) point.

Some news?

The thread over there at the ATI forum look like if not seen from an officially person.

To now no answer.

Maybe it would be better to write directly to the chiefs of ATI.. ;-)

Maybe it would be better if an officially of SETI@home write to the officially of ATI?

For what it is worth, I added my support to the thread.

I also reported myself to moderation with the following comment.

This man is threatening to spend money on your products if you write a Seti app. Please check this thread out carefully.

Kind Regards
David Glogau

Who knows, something might come of it? It is also a nice way to celebrate my first million in Seti lol.

"threatening to spend money"
the first confirmed instance of financial terrorism?

Hahaha, to be honest, I think Goldman Sacks and AIG are a little ahead of me in the quest for that title.
