Instead of just "Anonymous platform" (in "Application" column) can we have more specific info as e.g.:

Anonymous platform (MB 5.28)
Anonymous platform (MB 6.03)
Anonymous platform (MB 6.08)
Anonymous platform (MB 6.09)
Anonymous platform (AP 5.05)

Not without a specific rewrite of the BOINC (client and back-end) software, and then it would affect all other projects as well.

At this moment, your sched_request_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml will send the following line to the scheduler:

<platform_name>anonymous</platform_name>

That's what gets translated to Anonymous Platform in the database. No mention of which version of the anonymous platform, due to the trouble that one app_info.xml file can contain multiple anonymous platform applications.

About a year ago what is now shown as Anonymous platform was shown in a "normal" way both for standard and opt. apps, e.g. 5.28

I know that, but since that time the whole scheduler code, both at the front and the back has been completely rewritten. At present they're still getting the bugs out of the code, with regards to having multiple applications per app_info.xml file being possible and such.

In all, this is the wrong forum to ask it in. You should ask David on the BOINC Dev forums, on the email list.

You are not quite right.
Using BOINC 6.6.38 this is the beginning of
sched_request_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml
<scheduler_request>

<app_version>
    <app_name>setiathome_enhanced</app_name>
