As far as I know, Windows only runs on x86 compatible CPUs. BOINC is officially supported on Windows (all x86 compatible CPUs), Linux/Unix, and Macintosh.

It is up to each project to write applications to run on the specified platform. In the case of a platform that supports multiple CPU types, e.g. Macintosh runs on PowerPC and x86, it is up tot he science project to write an application for both types.

I am not quite certain that Itanium is supported, but then, Itanium seems to be less and less of the market as well (never very popular, and even less so now).

Note, you would KNOW if you had an Itanium system.

Hi, 24 years ago(1986), I've 'worked' with a CPC 6128 from Amstrad, (Zilog Z80A Amstrad CPC6128 (4412)), BASIC in ROM and Floppy Disk (3") NOT 3.5" so you could run CP/M 1.01 (DOS 1.01), and it still worked, if it weren't stolen, when I was moving to another house.(1999)
