Ok ,here I have an older IBM X series X365 e-server 4 X 2.7ghz XEON MP processors with 4GB of ram and 2X new IBM 73gb U320 scsi drives (space for 6) 3U The machine was purchased (for a business start-up that never fully materialised) The server was bought in new condition for close to $7000 dollars US in 2005 I am the second owner , the first owner stored the unit for redundancy but never un-boxed it I ran it for 200 hours as a web server, and subsequently shut down the business leaving the server unused for the last, oh, 4 years or so... While doing some spring cleaning in the garage, I discovered it sitting there collecting dust and decided to fire it up. Running boinc client as it's only task, it makes a nice cruncher.... till you get the electric bill. lol Anyway .. I'll gladly donate it to the project (shipping included) if it would be useful. It would certainly be cheaper to ship than running it for a year and, it's too good for the recycler since it has such a short service time. Also have a x360 4X 1.7GHz 4gb (pc-1600 eCC) ( U160 raid card) no drives... for parts if anything can still be used there , your also welcome to it. |
