Hi everyone.

Sheesh, I go out for my evening run and return to find that the world is suddenly inside-out.

Thanks for the congratulations and well wishes. Only time will tell if it is warranted.

Traditionally, I guess I am supposed to make some sort of stiff and formal statement. Yeah, like that's gonna happen!

It has been almost three years since I joined SAH and I remember what the boards, especially the Cafe, were like then, They were fun. Wild, crazy, rollicking fun.

I suppose that the issues that lead to the nastiness were all there then, brewing in the background, but I knew none of it. I still don't know the root cause, and I don't want to know. For me, back then was just a lot of laughs with a lot of fun people.

It was my desire to see the Cafe and other boards go back to that time of just chillin'' and enjoying each others' company was the deciding factor in my decision to accept this challenge.

I know that there are going to be some who question the wisdom of making me a Mod. I question it myself and, spent a couple days doing some serious soul-searching before I decided to sign on.

For the next few days, I plan on reading a lot, figuring out the ebb-and-flow in a little more detail, and, of course, figuring out all these shiny new buttons are for. (I am especially curious about the big red one that says 'do not press!' . . .



It has been a surreal couple of days and I hope that you'll all be patient with me while I figure it out.

Thank you Fred and Dr. Korpela for this honour and I will try very hard not to let you down.
