Four Seasons I am born. I am now a sprout. Once i was a seed, underneath the ground. my father gave me rain, my mother gave me sunlight. As i become older & older, i'll reach a certain height. Suddenly the rain stops pouring, the sun is shining bright. I must hope i won't get squashed, by all the kids playing outside. The weather is very dry, and so are my leaves. Humans are taking my flowers, those irritating thieves. As i absorb the rain, my leaves fall down. if i'm not careful enough, i might just drown. My branches feel strange, now that they are naked. I don't like this weather, in fact, i hate it. Snow is falling down, and people are playing outside. At least they have a shelter, i don't have a place to hide. I envy and love them at the same time, you see cause at the end of the day, they're people and i'm just a tree Julie Detavernier (2013) rOZZ Music Pictures |

My kitty came and asked of me..... Are you being all that you can be? And this question my kitty asked of me both amazed and then also startled me. Kitty, how can you ask me so, when you sleep more hours that the day doth know and then come and kiss me on the ear and ask such questions I never hear? Kitty says, not sleeping do I do, nor random thoughts I ask of you. I wish to know, in your sad state, have you kitty thoughts? Or, must I wait. I pondered for a bit and said.... Kitty, dear, I've often said. My dreams with you every night I share. I know nobody most times cares. But I know that you do when I sleep. And that my soul does love you deep. Sleep sound, my kitty, I shall be here until the day my Lord, so dear sounds his trumpet and we, kitties and more go to find a more peaceful shore. So to answer kitty's questions again. I petted her to sleep, both her's and mine, and with one last sigh from with within my chest, Went to sleep with my kitties. They are the best. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." The Dance Silence, soft silence. Not a whisper of melody Nobody wanted to be first on the dance floor. I did not understand. My partner looked at me with eyes that penetrated to my soul. Why did everyone remain seated? Would music be heard when couples came forward? But, where was the orchestra? It was as if the entire world was in waitful suspension. I extended my hand, to my partner -- and, the music began. * * * j. r. martin 21 February 2013 |

It seems to some, who I know quite dear........ Some bridges I have to clear. The jump, so big for me to make, is something I must undertake. Bridge jump, let's make it quite clear, is not something you should take as daring. If I do it, it with be clarifying.......what and who, and whether and wherefore.. If I do, the kittyman shall vanish forever and therefor........ So, I struggle and all that whatnot. You wanna punish me? Give it your best shot. I can handle all the worst that live has traded. All the best and all of it's shadings. See my next poem in the next hours or next days......dunno. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

A Warm Transition All the world's electronics flamed. The cause remained unknown. Once again, the fireplace became a welcome gathering-place. * * * j. r. martin 23 February 2013 |

This one is for those who have mastered/are in the process of mastering a musical instrument (I know of at least one; ahem.) Outside, of the Box Before exiting the box, mastery of its contents was necessary. The desired departure involved learning of engrossing, yet complex rules. Complete comprehension enabled the ability, as it were, to both chew gum and walk on water. However, with new vistas exposed, there followed new boxes and rules. Forevermor complex. Forevermore simplified. Forevermore beautiful * * * j. r. martin 28 February 2013 |

Newtown An American boy, alienated from his surroundings His mind troubled and filled with images of destruction A young men, in his not recognized crises Writing black history with the blood of innocent children In a society where dead goes over the counter as a basic right for those who want to have it available, for self defense Where the importance of economics has such a high priority, that security of the individual is suffocating Where the constitution provides an excuse to expose citizens to danger Where some will never be able to live their American dream, but are forced to play a role in an American nightmare, leaving their loved ones behind in tears and despair Is growing up in a society with so many weapons still a necessary standard? Does it really contribute to safety and protection, as meant to be? Or is this right degenerated into a constitutional anchored example of democratic imperfection.....? To help prepare us for Spring . . . A Harvest of Pollen Now! With excited urgency, the worker bees availed themselves of the warmer air, outside the hive. Squadrons droned off in all directions. Meadows, blanketed with the Spring's offerings, awaited the fortunate ones. Arachnid webs, spun with captivating care, awaited their share of the harvest. Beads of sunlight reflected off both silk and cuticle. A higher-pitched, angry, almost-vocalized alarm, reverberated from one hapless victim; the motions of her efforts were blended with the sure, slower swaying of the snare. A life-exchange -- one, swaddled in a blanket of white, and pieced through with a numbing irreversibility. The beginning of many lives, never-the-less, was sustained by the numberless visits to the awaiting, enticing colors and fragrances. Delicious experiences with each floral visit -- with generous coatings of gold, identifying the more successful. Each bee's return to her waxy home was finalized with the instinctive, meticulous, cleansing combing of the day's harvest -- A large, collective effort, dearly-won. * * * j. r. martin 23 February 2013 |

Poem written in the heart A note reminds us what we should do and we certainly can not forget a paper lets us draw, it lets us write and makes the owner proud of it but throw it all away ... and there is nothing left but a poem in the heart remains forever Julie Detavernier (2013) rOZZ Music Pictures |

One explanation, one comment: 1) The person, featured, is the collective representation of the creators of automation technology. 2) It is hoped that the future will not be this bleak; however, history has a tendency to repeat itself. . . (Comments, if any, might have to be submitted in the "Politics" thread?) * For the Common Good Before the hood enclosed his head, Before the serfs gave their reply, Before he plunged below their eyes, Before his final act was done, He bid farewell to everyone: "Mistakes, I made, for common good -- I gladly go, to common bed." * * * j. r. martin 7 March 2013 |

A wish called peace when I look above and see the beautiful stars I ask myself why are there so many wars why do we kill each other and not live in harmony grab each other's hand that would be nice to see when I look at the stars I also feel mother earths pain we destroy all the beautiful things she gives us every day when I look at the stars then I make a wish and that will be, this enough food and water for those who have nothing to spend no difference between rich and poor and no, not everyone needs to be your friend but, let's all walk through the same door a door which also leads to freedom for every one that wars and hate are completely gone that oceans are clean again the same rights for every men affordable and good medicine against deadly disease but the most of all we all can and should live in peace Julie Detavernier (2013) rOZZ Music Pictures |

In Between Days Tell me ... What did you do on Monday? Who'd you see on Wednesday And who was with you on Friday? Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery But the memories you make today Eventually will fade away Isn't that strange? The days are the same But the memories will be replaced That's because most of them aren't relevant to your story That's why we have a selective memory The reason that today eventually fades away ... Vacation - Urlaub With pedal, to the floor -- on autobahn, I soar. Kein blau-licht, hinter mir. On Urlaub -- kindern cheer! With worries, left behind, to Mozart's music, find. In Salzburg's alte stadt, the sweet air, keenly-sought. Die kuchen schmecht, sehr gut -- with hard-won Euros, bought. Die kindern were sehr-stuffed. Bei mir, der Wein, enough. From down the narrow street -- die enge strasse, sweet -- eine schöne melodie, from Mozart, and, for free. Aus nearby kirche, born, like clothing, to be worn. Surrounding us when there, we bore to northern air -- Vacation clothes, for rest of year. * * * j. r. martin 18 March 2013 |

A little journey I look at the clouds and see the heavens above rain falls down on me there flies my one true love And even though he's so far away I feel his heartbeat next to mine his skin so soft and warm that gives me a feeling oh so fine Only true love can answer all questions questions about feelings and emotions the answer isn't always truthful but full of passion and devotion. My love is almost home I'll hear him today, maybe tomorrow, but my heart starts beating faster, I can see his reflection in my window Until the end of times, I'll hear his soft whispers in my head "I'll be home soon my love" that is truly what he said. Dream The Moment Happiness is never too far away Its always there to embrace Its always a friend when you believe But don't put it on sale It just won't stay, If your creed gets in the way Live in the moment And live the lessons you've learned Yesterday's gone Tomorrow's attitude, Is ready to be born So dream the moment And count your blessings, Before the dream gets burned The world is a stage for us to play Its always there each and everyday Play your part but don't be naive Don't believe in fairytales They just wont last, If you don't appreciate what you have So live in the moment And live the lessons you've learned Tomorrow's dream Yesterday's ingratitude, Is ready to make a scene So dream the moment And count your blessings, On every page that gets turned Julie Detavernier (2013) rOZZ Music Pictures |
